Role Overview:
Morgan McKinley is excited to support a leading client in the retail sector, currently seeking a Senior IT Programme Manager. In this role, you will play a crucial role in leading major and complex IT programmes that drive strategic change initiatives. Reporting to the IT Project Director, you will be responsible for mobilizing and guiding project managers to ensure successful delivery of program elements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage a program/portfolio of projects, overseeing their delivery, reporting, and oversight.
* Mobilize and lead major and complex projects/programmes.
* Manage cross-functional teams, including internal and external resources.
* Oversee demand on IT resources and manage capacity and future demand.
* Lead project teams to understand project goals and achieve project objectives.
* Provide leadership and project guidance to IT Project Managers.
* Analyze and manage project details while aligning with program priorities and company goals.
* Develop and execute multiple strategic priorities to meet objectives and deliver results.
* Provide exceptional leadership and mentorship to implement large complex projects collaboratively and resolve challenges.
* Manage supplier relationships and IT contracts with suppliers.
* Assist with goal development and coaching of project managers to enable team growth.
Experience and Skills Required
* IT-oriented Degree
* Project management qualification (PMP, Prince 2, etc.) and/or Agile qualification
* Business Change Management, Lean Six Sigma, Technical qualification
* 15+ years in project & programme management roles
* Proven track record in project delivery, including Waterfall and Agile methodologies
* Experience guiding projects from ideation through to delivery, with accountability for all phases
* Scrum Master experience, hands-on agile team experience
* Project portfolio management, IT Technology experience
* Advanced knowledge of business operations and project/program management
* Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and leadership skills
* Strong teamwork, planning, and organization abilities
* Ability to build and foster strong, trusted working relationships
* Openness to new ideas and approaches
