Cost Director Laois, €110k

DesignBuild Search are working with a leading independent project and Cost Management Consultancy. Due to strategic growth plans they have an opening for an experienced Cost Director. The successful applicant will have extensive PQS experience. This position will suit someone interested in scaling a business.

Minimum:

Degree qualified in construction Economics or Quantity Surveying.

10+ years’ experience with a leading consultancy

Chartered or working towards chartership

Roles and responsibilities:

* blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labour costs vs estimates.
* quantity surveying duties including measurements, valuation and agreement of work sections
* in project management
* in all forms of estimating packages, Microsoft excel and word
* with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction manager/supervisors to discuss cost.
* cost from vendors or subcontractors, explores variances, manging issues in conjunction with manager, deals with cost overseas and recovery.
* on actual costs and examines estimates used by management for purpose such as planning, organising and schedule work.
* cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project manager.
* cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
* up cost monitoring and reporting system and procedures.
* special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost date to be effective on cost reduction.
